Following calls from local residents the Communities First Partnership have been working with the road safety department, highways department and local police to raise awareness of the dangers of speeding. Leaflets warning of the dangers has been circulated to all households in the borough, improved signage and increased traffic surveys have been carried out in the area.

Hit by a vehicle at 30mph, 5 out of 10 pedestrians are killed
Hit by a vehicle at 20mph, 1 pedestrain is killed but 9 survive
