Welsh Walk and Talk May 17th 10.30am to 12.30pm start point outside cefn Coed Community centre, Old Drill Hall Road, Cefn Coed, Merthyr Tydfil. A guided walk with the opportunity to learn some basic welsh en route. Starting outside cefn coed community centre and finishing at Soar Theatre, with a tour of the chapel and new facilities. Consultation from 21st March - 29th April
The council has been carrying out a review in order to fund out how effective have been in providing and improving both our Adult and Children's Social Services during 2010/2011. Following this period of review the Director of Social Services has produced a draft report that details
- how good you believe that the council are in meeting the needs of the community
- the council's key strengths and achievements
- progress against key priorities for improvements

Brig Y Cwm Wales Energy from Waste Project
Covanta Energy Ltd have submitted an application for this major infrastructure project to the Infrastructure Planning Comission. Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council is a statutory consultee in the process and their view is made known to the planning comission by means of a Local Impact Report which will be submitted to the IPC at the time during the process. Whilst the council is not required to carry out it's own conculstation with the community they have decided to enable residents to express their views which will be forwarded to the IPC along with the local impact report.
