The Welsh Assembly Government’s flagship programme Communities First has the long term aim to improve the living conditions and prospects for people in the most disadvantaged communities across Wales. It allows local people themselves to decide what is needed, and they are then supported in these decisions to make these changes happen within their local community.
The Trefechan Communities First Partnership is made up of representatives from the local community and the voluntary, public and private sector. The partnership sets an action plan each year which aims to address the priorities and issues identified within Trefechan by the local community. The partnership has a team of workers to help with adminstration and coordination of the programme.
