Road Safety in Trefechan

Parents and Children from Trefechan Nursery School took part in a led walk through the village this week, to promote road safety and help families reduce the risks their children face while walking through their community. By taking part in the walk the children and parents were able to identify risks and learnt the importance of stop, look, listen and think before crossing the road.
Thanks to funding from the Trefechan Communities First Partnership and Road Safety Department of the council all participants also received a road safety pack which included information and fluorescent items such as school bags and stickers to enable the children to be more visible when walking through the community.
“Road Safety and speeding has been identified as a priority by the community of Trefechan. By encouraging and promoting good road safety amongst children at an early age it is hoped that future accidents and near misses involving children can be avoided.”
